Equipment

  • Baking Pan
  • Knife
  • Chopping Board
  • Spoon
  • Plate
  • Fork

Ingredients

  • 4 tortillas
  • 300 grams fresh shrimps
  • 2 onions
  • 4 green peppers
  • 1 tomato
  • 150 grams cheese
  • 50 grams butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha

Instructions

  • Start with dicing the veggies (green peppers, onions, and tomatoes) and shrimp. Shred the cheese and set it aside.
  • Preheat the cooking pan and add half of the butter and olive oil. Once the butter melts, sauté onion and green pepper for 5-10 minutes. Stir them occasionally.
After 10 minutes, add diced tomatoes and shrimp. Then, season with oregano and salt. Stir-fry these ingredients until there is no water left in the pan.
  • Place all tortillas on the table and add 2-3 tablespoons of the shrimp mixture on one half of the tortilla. Next, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the mixture.
  • Preheat your pan and add the remaining butter. Place one tortilla in and lower the temperature by half. After cooking for 1 minute, fold the tortilla in half. Cook for 10 – 15 seconds more and take it out. Repeat the process with other tortillas.
Serve the tacos gobernador with some sriracha sauce and tomato slices. Enjoy!

Notes

  • The total cooking time is for 4 servings.
  • Always opt for fresh tortillas that are free from added flavors.
  • Combine both butter and olive oil to sauté the vegetables, enhancing the dish with multiple flavor dimensions.
  • For a crispy finish, press down on the folded tortilla with a spatula, allowing the cheese to melt and crisp up the edges.
  • Consider alternative vegetables like cabbage, lettuce, or jalapeños for the fillings.
  • Typically, tacos gobernador include shrimp, but you might also try using firm white fish or lobster for variety.
  • Transform the taco recipe into a delicious quesadilla if desired.
