Equipment

  • Microwave

Ingredients

  • Cookies
  • Fresh white bread

Instructions

Using a slice of white bread

  • Place a fresh slice of white bread at the bottom of a cookie jar. Stack the cookies on top of it and close the lid tightly.
  • After 24 hours, take the cookies out to see if they have become tender and chewy
If the cookies aren't soft enough, repeat the process with a new slice of bread and wait for another 6 hours.

Using a microwave

  • Wrap the cookies in damp paper towels and put them on a microwave-safe plate.
Microwave the cookies on medium power levels for 15 to 20 seconds. Repeat the process if necessary.

Notes

  • If you want to experiment, divide the batter and use one-third to try out different ingredient ratios or baking techniques.
  • Add a tablespoon of corn syrup to give your cookies more moisture.
  • Don’t put your cookies into the oven or microwave without damp paper towels.
  • Placing a glass of water in the microwave is a good way to add moisture to your cookies.
  • Separate the soft cookie types from the crispy ones.
