Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Pot
  • Sieve
  • Ladle

Ingredients

  • 0.77 pounds farfalle pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.8 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Italian seasoning alternative

  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon rosemary

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil. When the water comes to a rapid simmer, season with a little salt. Add the farfalle pasta and cook for 8 minutes over medium heat. Gently stir the pasta from time to time.
  • Once the pasta is cooked to al dente, drain it by using a sieve. Transfer the pasta to a large bowl.
  • Allow the pasta to cool for about 2 minutes.
  • Season the pasta with olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well using a spatula.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes. Spread the seasoned pasta evenly in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry the pasta for 5 minutes at 400°F.
  • After the 5-minute mark, use tongs or a spatula to flip the pasta.
  • Continue to cook the pasta for another 2 minutes until it's golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the pasta chips from the air fryer basket.
  • Enjoy them with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • The total is estimated based on 6 servings of air fryer pasta chips.
  • Store the leftover chips in an airtight container to keep them crispy. They'll last for about 3 days when stored in a fridge.
  • Besides ketchup, I recommend serving your pasta chips with marinara sauce.
  • If you're a fan of cheese, feel free to sprinkle the chips with extra grated Parmesan.
  • On the other hand, you can cut down on the cheese or omit it entirely if you want a less calorie-dense dish.
  • The pasta will cook more evenly if they're relatively similar in size.
  • Rotini, rigatoni, penne, and fusilli are all great choices for making pasta chips. Avoid using long pasta (tagliatelle, capellini, and so on).
