Gather a phin, which includes a plate, a coffee chamber, a tamper, and a lid.Place the plate on top of your coffee cup and position the chamber on the plate. Fill the chamber with three tablespoons of ground coffee and set aside.Warm the lid by placing it on the plate and pouring a bit of hot water over it.Once warmed, return the coffee-filled chamber to sit atop the lid. Add just enough hot water to cover the coffee grounds and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the brew post-steeping to enhance flavor.
Remove the phin setup and add 2 tablespoons of condensed milk (about 25ml) to your cup.
Reassemble the phin on your cup, add 1.69 floz (50ml) of hot water, cover with the lid, and allow the coffee to drip through.
Wait for all the water to pass through the filter and stay just above the milk. Stir well and add ice. Enjoy!
- You can change the milk : coffee ratio to adjust the taste to your liking.
